QotD: Check the Mailbox!
What magazines do you subscribe to, and why?
All of our magazines end up in our bathroom, so this is essentially a roundup of what's on the back of our toilet:
The Nation: because it has the best coverage of politics of any magazine -- and this coming from my husband, who was an avid National Review reader!
American Rifleman: it's the free NRA magazine. He's a member of the NRA. We also have a loaded gun at our bedside. His mom has warned him, very seriously (nearly with tears in her eyes) not to ACCIDENTALLY WAKE UP AND SHOOT HIMSELF OR ME WHILE ASLEEP.
He also buys 2600 quarterly, but he doesn't have a subscription.
As for my magazines -- My aunt and uncle used to send me a subscription to Newsweek when I was in college, but that's been 7 years. I used to get Entertainment Weekly, but that was before I moved to Tucson. I kinda wish I still had the subscription to EW... sometimes the magazines we have are too depressing and I just want to read about what Stephen King thinks of Paris Hilton, you know?
